week three...tummy troubles

Well, we had a very traumatic conclusion to week two with our little love. On the day we were supposed to be leaving for our winter south, Dylan starting having projectile vomit each and every time he ate. After many doctors proding and ultrasound techs diagnosing, he was admitted to Bostons Childrens Hospital for Pyloric Stenosis. We spent a very sad night in the hospital holding and consoling our very hungry and confused babe. On Wednesday December 29th Dylan had laparoscopic surgery to fix his tummy passage so that he could retain his food. So....after 2 nights of sleeping in a large crib with our 2 week old angel hooked up to IVs and heart monitors, we were discharged on December 31st. Happy New Year.

Thankfully our little man rebounded like a champ and was more alert than ever and eating like a pro by the beginning of week four. Phew.....

week one...its a whole new world

Dylans first week was a very sleepy one. He never missed a feeding though,
waking up every two hours like clockwork.
He loved to snuggle in with mommy or daddy on the couch.
At his one week check-up he weighed 9lbs 3oz ....already surpassing his birth weight!

Dylan John Bancroft...welcome to the world!

At 4:52 pm on Monday December 13th 2010 we tearfully welcomed our little angel Dylan John.
It was an amazing journey to create you in my belly. (my huge, huge, gigantic belly)
We have waited our whole lives to meet our little miracle so with great anticipation
I will share this blog about raising Dylan and creating a family overflowing with love.

Four days late, Dylan weighed in at 8lbs 11oz and 20 inches long.
He was a big boy but not quite as big as we were expecting.
The single most asked question while carrying you in my belly was not "when are you due?"
nope...it was always "twins??" All of your doctors predicted you to be over 10 lbs,
so it was a relief that you weren't quite that large!

After 40 weeks of carrying you around in my belly and 30 long hours of hard labor,
we loved you at first sight. Our sweet little man...
