the mommy doo

I decided it was time for a change and went to a reccomemended hair salon in Florida and got "the mommy haircut" and a fresh color. It was long overdue and I felt great.
I left Dylan for the first time with his daddy.
When I nervously came home, after a long two hours....
Daddy and Dylan were soundly sleeping in
the lounge chair in the screen room! So cute...

fun in the sun

We are having so much fun showing Dylan all of our favorite places in Florida. He has been to all of our favorite restaurants, dog beach with miss Marls and spent a lot of time at Lovers Key Beach reading and napping with mommy while daddy rides his jet ski from the beach.
Ahhhh...the Florida life.

man of movement

Our little man loves to be constantly moving. He needs a stroller ride, a car ride, or the mommy shuffle at all times and we are all getting a little tired. Out of sheer desperation we went looking for a swing for Dylan. We are pretty cramped already with us, the baby and the dog but we NEED a swing! He loves it too...thank god!!

His new favorite friend is the blue elephant..he makes eyes at it!

this weeks adventures

This week Dylan had his first bottle from Daddy. We were so nervous that he wasn't going to take it, I even left the house. Little did we know....he didn't care! He just wants his food....bottle or boob, don't matter! This made Andys week!

This week we also took the little man to the beach for the first time.
He slept in his stroller under the unbrella most of the time. It was nice and relaxing!

Dylans new buddy

Dylan may not know it yet but Marlee is his new best friend. Marlee just loves him. She follows me around wherever I go with him and she lays down right next to where I put him down. This week she has started howling whenever he cries. She lays on the floor and howls! It is both hilarious and annoying. This is the beginning of a great friendship...you will see Dylan.

one month and counting...

This week we celebrated Dylans one month birthday and our one year wedding anniversary! We spent two nights in Islamorada Florida where we were married. We trailered the boat down and stayed at the same place we did last year. On the night of our anniversary we returned to Morada Bay for dinner as a family. Dylan wasn't in the mood though. Unfortunately for us, he had a meltdown just before we ordered dinner and we were forced to leave. Maybe it was the insane thunder and lightning storm....lets just go with that.
Of course Richmond did doggy bag my wine for me!!

We had two wonderfully relaxing days together in the Keys. We went out on the boat for a day, which again Dylan slept through. We had a successful dinner out at the Green Turtle and a great breakfast there too. There is nothing like a sunrise or a sunset in the Keys, especially when shared with those you love!

first boating adventure

Our little moon baby had his first boating trip when he was just 4 weeks old! We went out in Lovers Key State Park on Papas boat, (Tuesdays Pleasure) for about an hour and a half. We cruised around the inside waterway and went by dog beach and had lunch on the boat. Dylan slept the whole time, he loved it! In fact the only time he made a peep or moved an inch was when the boat stopped. This child is definitely his fathers son, also a moon baby thus a water lover!

week four...sunny days

As soon as the doctors gave us the green light to hit the road toward sunny days in Florida, we were headed south! Dylan enjoyed his first ride in the motorhome! He slept in his seat strapped to the couch with mommy by his side the entire way. (except for when his mimi sat with him so a very overtired mommy could go nap) It was a very different trip for daddy, sitting all by his lonesome!

,

This week Dylan decided he will only sleep in his vibrating chair. We had great intentions. We packed his basinett and had great plans to start him in it right away. Well, Dylan had another plan. He cried his little heart out every time we put him down in the basinett. Perhaps he just doesn't like to sleep flat on his back...

We adjusted to the warm weather quite nicely. Now off to the store to find multiple sun hats to keep our precious child out of the sun!

week three...tummy troubles

Well, we had a very traumatic conclusion to week two with our little love. On the day we were supposed to be leaving for our winter south, Dylan starting having projectile vomit each and every time he ate. After many doctors proding and ultrasound techs diagnosing, he was admitted to Bostons Childrens Hospital for Pyloric Stenosis. We spent a very sad night in the hospital holding and consoling our very hungry and confused babe. On Wednesday December 29th Dylan had laparoscopic surgery to fix his tummy passage so that he could retain his food. So....after 2 nights of sleeping in a large crib with our 2 week old angel hooked up to IVs and heart monitors, we were discharged on December 31st. Happy New Year.

Thankfully our little man rebounded like a champ and was more alert than ever and eating like a pro by the beginning of week four. Phew.....

week one...its a whole new world

Dylans first week was a very sleepy one. He never missed a feeding though,
waking up every two hours like clockwork.
He loved to snuggle in with mommy or daddy on the couch.
At his one week check-up he weighed 9lbs 3oz ....already surpassing his birth weight!

Dylan John Bancroft...welcome to the world!

At 4:52 pm on Monday December 13th 2010 we tearfully welcomed our little angel Dylan John.
It was an amazing journey to create you in my belly. (my huge, huge, gigantic belly)
We have waited our whole lives to meet our little miracle so with great anticipation
I will share this blog about raising Dylan and creating a family overflowing with love.

Four days late, Dylan weighed in at 8lbs 11oz and 20 inches long.
He was a big boy but not quite as big as we were expecting.
The single most asked question while carrying you in my belly was not "when are you due?"
nope...it was always "twins??" All of your doctors predicted you to be over 10 lbs,
so it was a relief that you weren't quite that large!

After 40 weeks of carrying you around in my belly and 30 long hours of hard labor,
we loved you at first sight. Our sweet little man...
